Tortoiseshell / Domestic Short Hair (short coat) Cat

Tortilla - Barn Cat the Cat needs a home

Tortilla is a very reclusive feral cat who is anxious to find a barn home. As is true of the great majority of feral cats, Tortilla is not aggressive with humans at all, just completely terrified. She is certain to do a great job as a mouser if she has living quarters that will allow her to hide out in a comfy place in which she feels secure. A nice hayloft would fit the bill perfectly!

Tortilla had joined a small group of cats who had discovered no-cost dining in a cat lover's yard. She was quickly trapped in her determination to get more of the tasty food. The vet estimated her age as 5 1/2 years old as of November 2017, and also indicated that she had clearly helped add to the cat overpopulation problem a number of times. Tortilla has been spayed, ear-tipped, vaccinated and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV.

Tortilla came into foster care along with handsome Tux and the two have proven themselves to be buddies in their foster home. They would therefore like to be adopted together and, of course, additional friends are also available. Please see the separate posting for Tux. Tortilla will most likely not allow herself to be seen very often, but will be content to remain in the background, quietly doing her job as a mouser and letting Tux take all of the credit! Please consider helping this pair if you have the appropriate barn home to offer. They will be grateful, and help you out in return.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
